Frequently asked questions

Does Smartsheet have a native way to copy report filters?

No. Smartsheet does not provide any built-in mechanism to copy filter configurations between reports. Grid Tools adds this capability directly inside the report interface.

What does the paste operation transfer?

It transfers all filter conditions including the column reference, operator (is, is not, contains, etc.), and the comparison value for each row.

Can I paste filters into a report that uses different source sheets?

Yes, as long as the destination report contains columns with names that match the copied filter conditions. Conditions referencing columns that do not exist in the destination will be flagged.

Does this work for both simple and advanced filter logic?

Grid Tools copies the full filter configuration as it exists in the source report, including AND/OR groupings where Smartsheet supports them.
